As Chair of the D+E+I (Dominican Ecclesial Institute) Board of Directors (2012 ff) and Acting CEO (2017-17), Kris collaborates with the Board, staff, volunteers, Archdiocese and the Province, promoting the Dominican charism of veritas through study, prayer, community and preaching/ministry to enhance adult faith formation, within the Archdiocese of Santa Fe.
When D+E+I Vice Chair (2011-12), she led the revision of its structure and by-laws, chaired the Tea and Lumen Awards, promoted the Chair’s projects, and worked with the Director in task fulfillment, including co-chairing the Dominican Visiting Scholar Program.
As D+E+I Trustee (2008 – 13), she created and implemented the 2009 D+E+I Dialogues three-day “Transformation and Collaboration … Forming a Catholic Future,” co-chaired their annual operating fundraiser and awards, was their Development Chair, and served on the Finance and Investment Committee.
After receiving her undergraduate degree with honors in Mathematics, Philosophy and Education at Marquette University, Kris trained in liturgy and scriptures at Notre Dame University and the St. Francis Seminary for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, WI. Within the Archdiocese, she coordinated the Paulist Family Life program for St. Monica Parish, served Campus Ministry at Marquette. participated in the Sanctuary Movement, homeless meal program and liturgy at St. Benedict the Moor Parish, led various liturgical events for Marquette Alumni, created and implemented the first Archdiocesan prayer outreach, was an adult and youth religious educator, and continues now as an active, trained Lector and Eucharistic Minister.
In Albuquerque, Kris served on the Aquinas Newman Center Finance Council (Chair 2014), El Salvador Ministry (FOCES Board), Women in the Spirit (WITS) leadership group, the Parish Pastoral Council (consultant), and as leading the tactical and strategic planning, coordinating parish missions, and liturgical leadership and ministries.
As Senior Vice President for EVEREN Securities, (now Wells Fargo Advisors), Kris was responsible for asset management through the creation, promotion and implementation of private client services and corporate development. As Executive Director of the EVEREN Foundation, she led the employee-owners’ volunteer service through education
Elected in 2012 and reelected in 2015 to serve on the Board of Directors for ASPPA (American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries), earning their Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) designation in 1985), Washington, DC., Kris created and co-chaired the NAPA (National Association of Plan Advisors) DC Fly-In Forum, the NAPA 401(k) SUMMIT and the NAPA 401(k) Advisor Leadership Award (earning the Certified Plan Financial Advisor (CPFA) designation in 2016). Serving on the NTSA (National Tax-Sheltered Savings Association) Leadership Council, she chairs their Elite Advisor Award, co-chairs their annual Masters Summit and is the 2017 Treasurer.
Coffey co-founded the international consulting firm, CPE Associates, Ltd. SOUTHWEST and MIDWEST in 1999.
